What is the value of y if y=cos(Arc sin 1/2)?

How can I solve this problem? Please help and explain! THANKS A LOT!

There is not much solving going on. Where is sine of an angle 1/2? Answer: at 30 and 150 degrees? What is the cosine of those angles?
