you know that there are 2π radians in one orbit. So, what you have to do is figure out how long it takes to make one orbit. The speed is then 2π/period

period is distance/speed = 2π*1.496*10^8 / 29.79 = 3.155 * 10^7 seconds

angular velocity is then 2π rad / 3.155*10^7 sec = 1.99*10^-7 rad/sec

check: 365.25days * 86400sec/day = 3.155*10^7 sec in a year

so, if tanθ = -√3, cotθ = -1/√3
and, as you recall, tan π/3 = √3 = cot π/6
