can you check this for me :

For those who graduate from high school, get a full-time job, and marry before they have their first child, the probability that they will be poor is 2%. But, if those things are absent, 76% will be poor.”

a) What is the causal relationship that is implied by this sentence?
The causal relationship would be graduating , getting full time job , getting married and having a child after or before this will later determine if your are poor or not.

b) For each of these three reasons, provide an explanation that could explain the correlation noted by Romney?
1- X causes Y : If you graduate ,get a full time job and have a child after all of this your chances that you will poor are less that if you were to have your first child before.

2- Y causes X : if you have a high level of poorness you are more likely to go back and finish school , graduate so you could get a full time job before you have your first child.

3- a third variable that causes both X and Y: ( I don't know what to write for this)

For the third reason, a possible explanation could be that socioeconomic status or family background could be a contributing factor to both the likelihood of graduating, getting a full-time job, and marrying before having a child, as well as the probability of being poor. For example, individuals from more affluent families may have better access to education, job opportunities, and financial stability, which can increase the likelihood of completing education, finding employment, and delaying parenthood. Conversely, individuals from lower-income families or disadvantaged backgrounds may face challenges in accessing education, securing stable employment, and delaying parenthood, which can increase the likelihood of experiencing poverty. Therefore, the third variable in this case would be the socioeconomic status or family background, which influences both the factors mentioned (graduating, getting a full-time job, marrying, and poverty).
