Could someone help me proofread?

When most people hear the word chemistry, the first things that usually come to mind are bubbling beakers, mysterious powers, and, of course, explosions! Actually, the truth is, the science of chemistry, simply looks at how matter changes. Throughout my project, there would have to be a lot of chemistry involved. The information below is how the eggs and different liquids react differently due to the different chemicals involves.
The egg shell consists of about 94-97 percent of calcium carbonate. The other three percent is organic matter and egg shell pigment. There are about 8,000 (microscopic) pores in the eggshell itself. The outer coating of the shell consists of a mucous coating called the bloom which is deposited on the shell. This protein like covering helps protect the interior contents of the egg from bacteria or other unwanted material. The quality of an eggshell could be affected several ways. Factors such as wash water temperature, moisture condensation on the shell, refrigeration temperature, and mechanical handling of the egg affects the overall quality of the eggshell.
The first material I will use would be toothpaste (mixed with water.) Egg shells and teeth have something in common; both can be weakened by acid. Usually, toothpaste could be divided in to nine main categories. Fluoride is an important category because it helps the material be resistant to acid. The fluoride in the toothpaste also helps make the eggshell stronger. Fluoride is a mineral found in nature. So it makes the hard outside layer become stronger. Toothpaste helps remove harmful bacteria and could polish it; it could sometime remove stains over time.
Coca-cola, on the other hand, would not dissolve any solid materials overnight. But if given time, it would eventually rot the object. Cola is very definitely acidic as it contains phosphoric acid, carbonic acid, and citric acid. Over time, the calcium carbonate in the eggshells reacts with these acids and is slowly dissolved into the drink, softening the shells.
A few minutes after the egg is placed in the vinegar, bubbles will form around the egg. This indicates a chemical reaction taking place between the vinegar and the shell of the egg. Vinegar has an acid called acetic acid. It contains around 6% of that type of acid. Acetic acid is only a weak acid, usually made from a special fermentation of wine or apple cider. Egg shells are made of calcium carbonate, another chemical compound. When these two substances react, carbon dioxide bubbles form from the carbonate and the egg shell disappears.
The water would be my control system. Water is neutral so it wouldn't chemically weaken the eggshell. The water would allow me to see if there is any difference in the eggshells.

When most people hear the word chemistry, the first things that usually come to mind are bubbling beakers, mysterious powers, and, of course, explosions! Actually, the truth is, the science of chemistry, No comma. simply looks at how matter changes.

Throughout my project, there would have to be a lot of chemistry involved. The information below is how the eggs and different liquids react differently due to the different chemicals involves. "involved" Switch the previous two sentences to let the reader know what the project is before you refer to it. You can also avoid being unnecessarily wordy by stating, "In this project, a lot of chemistry is involved."

The egg shell consists of about 94-97 percent of calcium carbonate. The other three percent Since the previous estimate is not as exact, you can just say the "remainder." is organic matter and egg shell pigment. There are about 8,000 (microscopic) pores in the eggshell itself. The outer coating of the shell consists of a mucous coating called the bloom which is deposited on the shell. This protein like hyphen covering helps protect the interior contents of the egg from bacteria or and? other unwanted material.

A new paragraph indicates a change in ideas, time, place or person. Indicate the new paragraph by indenting or skipping a line.

The quality of an eggshell could be affected several ways. Factors such as wash water temperature, moisture condensation on the shell, refrigeration temperature, and mechanical handling of the egg affects the overall quality of the eggshell.

You might want to indicate what hypothesis you are testing first. The first material I will use would be toothpaste (mixed with water.) Egg shells and teeth have something in common; both can be weakened by acid. Usually, toothpaste could be divided in to nine main categories. Is fluoride a type of toothpaste or a chemical added to it? Fluoride is an important category because it helps the material be resistant to acid. The fluoride in the toothpaste also helps make the eggshell stronger. Fluoride is a mineral found in nature. So Eliminate "so." That word makes it seem like being found in nature causes the effect. Acids are also found in nature.it makes the hard outside layer become stronger.

Can eliminate this last phrase. When these two substances react, carbon dioxide bubbles form from the carbonate Comma and the egg shell disappears.

The water would be my control system. Can eliminate "system." Water is neutral "neither acidic or alkaline" is more specific. Add comma. so it wouldn't chemically weaken the eggshell. The water would allow me to see if there is any difference in the eggshells. Is it "difference between eggshells" or the reaction of the eggshells to the various substances?

Do you want to also explore alkaline substances? However, stating your hypothesis merely in terms of acids would allow you to avoid using alkaline substances. Even so, you would then need to justify your exploration of the effects of fluorine.

I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.

  3. I think you should know that eggshell and teeth consist of quiet different chemical actually, eggshell is 94-97% Calcium carbonate while teeth is 98% Calcium Phosphate..Calcium phosphate (hydroxyapatite) react with fluoride and formed Fluoroapatite, which is stronger to acid than hydroxyapatite..just FYI
