7^6 divided by 7^7

Hi, Rhianna.

What you would first do is multiply:
7x7x7x7x7x7, which would equal 117,649.
7x7x7x7x7x7x7 would equal 823,543. 117,649/823,543 would finally equal 0.14285714285

I think there's an easier way to do this, 7^6/7^7 would be equals to 7^-1. According to the Law of Exponents powers with a same base number in division is simply subtracted.

7^6/7^7

= 1/7

or 7^-1 like Jack had

To simplify this expression, you can use the rule of exponents which states that when you divide two powers with the same base, you subtract their exponents.

In this case, we have 7^6 divided by 7^7, which means we have the same base (7) in both the numerator and denominator. So, using the rule of exponents, we can subtract the exponents:

7^6 / 7^7 = 7^(6-7)

Now, subtracting the exponents gives us:

7^6 / 7^7 = 7^(-1)

Now, 7^(-1) is equal to 1/7^1 or simply 1/7. So, the final simplified expression is:

7^6 / 7^7 = 1/7
