2Q. Melindas atheletic trainer told her to follow the begining exercise trainig schedule on day 1.On day 2,she is to increase all distances and times by 1/3 that of day 1.On day 3, she is to increase alll distances and times by 1/3 that of day 1.What will be her training schedule on day 3?

3Q.Who will have more demanding schedule on day 3,Betty or Melinda?Why?

1)

Day 1:
Jog = 3/2 miles
Walk = 7/4 miles
Rest = 5/2 minutes
Walk = 1 mile

Day 2: (increase distances + time by 1/3 of that day)
Jog = 1 1/3 x 3/2 = 4/3 x 3/2 = 12/6 = 2 miles
Walk = 4/3 x 7/4 = 28/12 = 7/3 miles
Rest = 4/3 x 5/2 = 10/3 minutes
Walk = 4/3 x 1 = 4/3 miles or 1 1/3 miles

Day 3:
Jog = 4/3 x 2 = 8/3 miles
Walk = 4/3 x 7/3 = 28/9 miles
Rest = 4/3 x 10/3 = 40/9 minutes
Walk = 4/3 x 4/3 = 16/9 miles

Essentially I just multiplied the previous exercise values by 1/3 and added that to the previous value hence the 1 1/3 = 4/3

I think you should be able to complete PART 2 and 3 from following this example.
