Hi

I am learning to use my ti-83 plus..
I was learning scatter plots yesterday and changed the settings accordingly. I don't remember what I did. But scatter plots worked fine.
But now I want to go back to the normal graphing mode. When I enter a function, and press Graph, scatter plot appears instead of the function's graph. How do I fix this?
Thanks a lot.

you have to:

1. hit the [2nd] button
2. then click the [Y=] button on the top of the calculator
3. see which Plot is On then hit enter on that on one or if more then one is on turn the other off.
4.choose the line graph picture there under Type:
5. hit enter and you should have it back to normal.

To fix this issue and return to the normal graphing mode on your TI-83 Plus calculator, you can follow these steps:

1. Turn on your calculator by pressing the ON button.
2. Press the Y= button to access the function editor.
3. Look for any equations or functions listed in the Y= editor that are not needed for your current graphing session.
4. Use the arrow keys to highlight the unwanted function and press the CLEAR button to remove it.
5. Ensure that there are no scatter plots or other statistical plots activated in the Y= editor. To do this, use the arrow keys to move to the particular plot and press the CLEAR button to disable it.
6. Verify that the graphing mode is set to "Function." Press the MODE button and make sure that FUNC is highlighted. If not, use the arrow keys to select FUNC mode.
7. After making these changes, press the GRAPH button to plot your desired function on the graphing screen.

Once you have completed these steps, the scatter plot should no longer appear when graphing a function, and you should be back to the normal graphing mode on your TI-83 Plus calculator.

To fix this issue and switch back to the normal graphing mode on your TI-83 Plus calculator, you need to modify the current graphing settings. Here's how you can do it:

1. Turn on your calculator by pressing the [ON] button.
2. Press the [MODE] button located on the top left side of the calculator.
3. In the Mode menu, you will see different options. Look for the option called "Graphing" or "Func".
4. Use the arrow keys (◄ and ►) to highlight the "Graphing" or "Func" option.
5. Press [ENTER] to select the "Graphing" or "Func" mode.
6. Once you've selected the desired mode, press [GRAPH] to plot a function. It should now display the graph of your entered function instead of scatter plots.

If, after following these steps, you still encounter issues or the calculator does not display the function's graph, you may need to reset your calculator to its default factory settings.

Please note that performing a factory reset will erase all the data and programs stored on the calculator. If you do decide to proceed with a factory reset, make sure to back up any important data before doing so.

To perform a factory reset on the TI-83 Plus calculator, follow these steps:

1. Turn off your calculator by pressing the [2nd] button followed by the [ON] button.
2. While holding down the [CLEAR] button, press and release the [ON] button.
3. "RAM Cleared" should appear on the screen, indicating that the reset was successful.
4. Release the [CLEAR] button and press [ENTER] to confirm the reset.

After performing a factory reset, you will need to set up any preferred settings and programs again.
