I need someone who can help me to understand what I am supposed to be doing with this problem, a step by step would be increasingly helpful so that I can apply it to other problems like this.

recall how you do something like

(a+b)(c+d)
= ac + ad + bc + bc

for (3sinx-2)(sinx+1)
we do exactly the same thing

= 3sinx(sinx) + 3sinx - 2sinx - 2
= 3(sinx)^2 + sinx - 2

(sinx)^2 is often written as sin^2 x and using the same pattern
something like tan^4 3x means (tan 3x)^4
