having trouble deciding between mean and median for which one would best represent the data and why. The numbers are: 22, 25, 34, 35, 41, 41, 46, 46, 46, 47, 49, 54, 54, 59, 60. Thanks....

The median (50th percentile) and mode (most frequently occurring score) = 46.

To find the mean = sum of scores/number of scores.

If the mean is close or equal to 46, then the distribution is essential normal and either measure of central tendency would be satisfactory.

If there is a great difference between mean and median, then the distribution is skewed. Since the mean acts as a fulcrum (Balance point), it is more influenced by deviant scores. Thus the median would be the best indicator of central tendency.
