  3. You have to divide numerator and denominator by the same number to get the same fraction afterwards.

    In the first case:
    You must divide 56 by 14 to get 4 in the numerator. Therefore divide the denominator by 14 also, giving 5.

    In the second case, you must divide 70 by 7 to get ten in the denominator. So divide 56 by 7 to get the new numerator, 8.
