Scroll down to the section on cover letters, and then click on the appropriate link(s) that'll give you the information you need to know how to write one of these.

Once you've written your letter, save it and print it out -- that's your hard copy to submit. Then use the Save As feature in your word processor and save it in Rich Text Format or Plain Text Format. You'll see the difference immediately. This is the product that you would copy and paste for an online submission. You can also print it out so you can clearly see the differences between this and the normally formatted product.

Dear [Employer's Name],

I am writing to express my interest in the [Position] role at [Company Name], as advertised on [Job Board/Company Website]. I have attached my resume for your consideration.

I am confident that my skills and experience make me a strong candidate for this position. I hold a [Degree/Certification] in [Field], and have [X years] of experience in [Relevant Experience]. Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated [Specific Achievements/Responsibilities], which I believe align well with the requirements of this role.

I was particularly drawn to [Company Name] because of its reputation for [Notable Company Achievement/Company Culture/Specific Project]. I am impressed by the commitment to [Mission/Vision/Value] demonstrated by the company, and I believe my [Skill/Experience] would contribute to the continued success of [Company Name].

When submitting my application, I wanted to highlight the main differences between hardcopy and online submissions:

1. Format: In a hardcopy submission, you would print your resume and cover letter on plain white paper and put them in an envelope. Online submissions, on the other hand, require you to attach electronic files, typically in PDF or Word format.

2. Delivery: Hardcopy submissions are usually sent through postal mail or delivered in person to the company's office. Online submissions, on the other hand, are sent via email or uploaded through the company's online application portal.

3. Presentation: With a hardcopy submission, you have the opportunity to choose high-quality paper and design the layout to make it visually appealing. Online submissions, however, rely on the consistent formatting of the electronic file, and it is essential to ensure that the formatting remains intact across different devices.

4. Additional Media: While hardcopy submissions limit you to paper documents, online submissions allow you to include additional media such as hyperlinks, online portfolios, or multimedia samples to showcase your work.

For this application, I have opted for an online submission as it allows for prompt and convenient review. My resume and cover letter are attached in PDF format for your reference.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my qualifications align with [Company Name]'s needs. Please feel free to contact me at [Phone Number] or [Email Address] at your convenience.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]
