Meredith took 15 minutes to unpack 4 boxes of books. If she unpacked a total of 28 boxes, how long did it take her to unpack all the boxes?

105 min

That's what I got & my teacher marked it wrong. Is that 1hr & 45 mins

if we convert it into hours:

in 1 hour there are 60 min
so, 105 min ( 1hr/ 60 min)
it's 1 hr. and 75 min.

maybe you can ask your teacher about that..

Ok. My answer was 105mins But converted to 1hr & 45 mins.

Thanks!

I disagree with Kazz.

1 hour = 60 minutes

105 - 60 = 45 minutes

105 minutes = 1 hour and 45 minutes

oh yes.. sorry:)

Thank you both

You're welcome.

To find out how long it took Meredith to unpack all the boxes, we can use a proportion. We know that she took 15 minutes to unpack 4 boxes, so we can set up the proportion:

15 minutes / 4 boxes = x minutes / 28 boxes

To solve for x, we cross-multiply:

15 minutes * 28 boxes = 4 boxes * x minutes

420 minutes = 4x

Now, divide both sides of the equation by 4:

420 minutes / 4 = 4x / 4

105 minutes = x

Therefore, it took Meredith 105 minutes to unpack all 28 boxes.
