An illustration of the associative property of addition provide an example

See previous post.

The associative property of addition states that when you are adding three or more numbers together, the grouping of the numbers does not affect the sum.

To provide an example, let's consider the numbers 2, 3, and 4.

If we add them in the order of (2 + 3) + 4, it would look like this:

(2 + 3) + 4 = 5 + 4 = 9

Now, let's rearrange the grouping and add them in the order of 2 + (3 + 4):

2 + (3 + 4) = 2 + 7 = 9

As you can see, regardless of the grouping of the numbers, the sum remains the same. This demonstrates the associative property of addition.
