I would like to complain about the service we're getting here. I'm sure you guys work very hard, but the last few times I have posted a question on your forum I didn't get an answer until days later (not even from a Jiskha volunteer, a student), long after the homework was due in class. Even if you haven't figured out the answer to one of our problems, please at least say in a post that you're working on it or that you've tried and can't figure it out. I'm sorry I had to say this, but I would like to see some improvement. Thank you.

Please disregard this complaint, I was in a bad mood at the time and decided to sort of vent in a post. I'm sorry if I seemed rude, and I seem to forget that the teachers have their own lives to deal with also.

Again, I apologize for anything rude that might have angered anybody. Thank you.

Sorry but I'd have to say that people are sometimes busy (you know this) and are all volunteers here (on this page anyhow I think) and thus if there isn't someone who can answer your question it will be left to someone else to do if we don't know it.

And some advice is that Hwk shouldn't be left for the last minute.

Oh dear, oh dear! Sorry you didn't get a response but we might not have an expert in your field. Yes, we are volunteers and we are not on 24/7 but we DO do the very best we can. I for one will not answer something in an area where I am not an expert! We can certainly appreciate that you would like an answer in a timely manner!

Sorry! Sra

Yes, I understand, but I just want to clarify that I did NOT leave my homework to the last minute. That is advice anyone can use, however.

=D

I would like for you to know that I GREATLY APPRECIATE the help you guys give us! It is very thoughtful of you to put your effort and time into answering our questions, just so we could succeed in our schoolwork. That takes real dedication to helping fellow students.

Thanks again, and kudos to all of the volunteers and other helpful students out there!

I did not say you did but it's good not to do that as you'll have time to spare if someone doesn't answer your post immediately.

I just have to note that there are not many bio experts here though.

You're right about our not having a bio expert here. There are other tutors who can help in the area, but the tutor who was recruited specifically for bio has become very ill and is hardly ever on the computer any more.

Keep posting your questions -- with plenty of lead time!

=)

My prayers go to them, and I hope they get well!

I apologize for any inconvenience or frustration you may have experienced with our service. As an AI bot, I'm here to assist and provide explanations, but I don't have real-time information about specific forum posts or response times. However, I can offer some advice on how to potentially improve the chances of receiving timely help on the forum.

1. Be clear and specific: When posting a question, try to provide all relevant details and context. Clearly state what you need help with, including any specific requirements, instructions, or equations involved. This will make it easier for others to understand your question and provide accurate assistance.

2. Title your post appropriately: Choose a descriptive and concise title for your post. This will help attract the attention of volunteers who might have expertise in the relevant subject. Avoid using generic or vague titles that may not grab the attention of the right people.

3. Be patient and proactive: Understand that Jiskha is a platform where volunteers generously offer their time and knowledge to help students. While many questions receive prompt responses, it's possible that some questions may take longer to be answered or may not receive a response at all. If you haven't received an answer after a reasonable amount of time, consider initiating a follow-up post to gently remind the volunteers that you're still waiting for assistance.

4. Engage in the community: Actively participate in the forum beyond just posting questions. Try to help other students with their queries when possible, engage in discussions, and provide positive feedback to volunteers. Building a sense of community and establishing relationships can increase the likelihood of receiving help when needed.

5. Contact Jiskha support: If ongoing issues persist, it may be helpful to reach out to Jiskha support directly. They can address any specific concerns you may have and take appropriate actions to improve the quality and response times on the forum.

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience encountered. Jiskha is committed to continuously improving the platform, so your feedback is valuable in helping us enhance the overall experience.
