Titanium (Ti) can be produced by the reaction of metallic sodium (Na) with titanium tetrachloride vapor (TiCl4). The byproduct of this reaction is sodium chloride (NaCl). Calculate the amount of titanium produced (in kg) when a reactor is charged with 95.0 kg of TiCl4 and 10.0 kg of Na.

no it's not right

This is a limiting reagent problem. I know that because amounts are given for BOTH reactants.

1. Write amd balance the equation.
TiCl4 + 4Na ==> 4NaCl + Ti

2.Convert 95.0 kg TiCl4 to mols. mols = grams/molar mass.
3. Convert 10 kg Na to mols using the same procedure.
4. Convert mols TiCl4 to mols Ti using the coefficients in the balanced equation.
5. Do the same with mols Na.
6. It is likely that the moles obtained by steps 4 and 5 will not agree which means one of them is wrong; the correct answer in limiting reagent problems is ALWAYS the smaller value and the reagent producing that value is the limiting reagent.
7. Convert mols to grams. g Ti = mols x atomic mass Ti and convert to kg.
Note: You can save a little time by modifying step 2 and 7. When converting 95 and 10 kg to mols, instead of changing to grams then to mols you may use kg directly. The answer you get will not be mols ( actually it will be mols/1000); however, you correct for that in step 7 by recognizing that the answer obtained will be in kg directly.

i have 92.0 kg. please help me out with the answer

(Kg og Na)/ 23*4 =X

X * 47.88 = in g

convert to Kg
