14. Triangle ABC has coordinates A(1, 4); B(3, –2); and C(4, 2). Find the coordinates of the image A'B'C' after a reflection over the x-axis. Please help!! I need answer now!! I have been working on this problme for over an hour cant get it, please help, someone, anyone!!!1

reflecting in the x-axis just changes (x,y) to (x,-y). So, just change the sign of all the y-coordinates.

I don't get it ?? :/

Please explain

plot the point (4,2) on graph paper. Now take a piece of string or something and stretch it from (4,0) to (4,2). Anchor the point that is on the x-axis. Now slowly rotate the string over the x-axis, until the end that started at (4,2) lands back on the paper. It will be at (4,-2). The y-coordinate has changed signs.

Or, how about this? Reflection in a mirror makes things in front look like they are an equal distance behind. Consider a mirror placed along the x-axis, with the shiny side on the positive y-axis side. The point (4,2) will look like it is behind the mirror, at (4,-2).

So, (4,2) --> (4,-2)

(-23,-5) --> (-23,+5)

Just change the signs of the y-coordinates!

OOHHHH LOL know i feel stupid, thank you sooo much!! Sorry if im by saying i don't get it annoyed you or made you mad in any way :)
