Writeacher recommended an excellent site. It lists five oceans, although many geographers still recognize only four oceans -- Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic, and Indian.
There are five major oceans on Earth: the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Southern Ocean, and the Arctic Ocean. To determine how many of these oceans are located north of the equator, you need to consider their geographical locations.
Starting with the Atlantic Ocean, it spans both the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere, with the equator passing through its center. Therefore, half of the Atlantic Ocean is located north of the equator.
Moving on to the Pacific Ocean, this vast body of water is also divided by the equator. Roughly two-thirds of the Pacific Ocean is located north of the equator.
The Indian Ocean is mostly situated in the Southern Hemisphere. However, a portion of it extends northward, crossing the equator, so it is partially located north of the equator.
