helo!

i know how to simplify radicals but.. I don't get this one.
behind of the radical (square root sign) there is a big gap before the number.
Many people are saying it's a typo, but.. i don't know.
there are a couple like that.

example problem:
square root of "space" 72

is this a different problem than the square root of 72?

I think it is a typo also. The square root of 72 is sqrt(36*2)= 6 sqrt(2)

Hello! I understand your confusion. In mathematics, when you see a gap or empty space before the number inside the square root sign, it usually indicates the multiplication of variables or expressions inside the square root.

In the example problem you provided, "space" 72, it seems like "space" is intended to represent a variable or an expression. Without any further context, it is difficult to determine the specific meaning of "space" here. However, the square root of "space" 72 would be different from the square root of 72.

To simplify the square root of "space" 72, you would need to have more information about what "space" represents. It could be a number, a variable, or a combination of terms. Without knowing the value or expression for "space," it is not possible to simplify the square root fully.

In general, when given a square root with a variable or expression inside, you can simplify it by factoring the expression inside the square root sign and looking for perfect square factors. However, the specific steps would depend on the expression itself.

If you can provide more information about what "space" represents or any additional context, I would be happy to help you further simplify the square root.
