Yes. The first one is an alkene. The second is an alcohol. Will your prof let you get away with that. It is an alcohol yes, but more specifically it is a secondary alcohol.
CH3CH2OH is a primary alcohol. OH attached to C with two H atoms.
CH3CH(OH)CH3 is a secondary alcohol. OH attached to C with one H atom.
(CH3)3COH is a tertiary alcohol. OH attached to C with no H atoms.
