I am not sure if there is an equation for this problem or wut??

A 73-kg person is accidentally exposed for 215 s to a 16-mCi source of beta radiation coming from a sample of 14C.

What is the activity of the radiation source in disintegrations per second? In becquerels? (1 Ci = 3.70 1010 disintegrations/s.)

1 Ci = 3.70E10 dps; therefore,

1 mCi = 1/1000 of that = 3.70E7 dps and that is 3.70E7 Bq

it said that answers were wrong im pretty sure i have to use the 73 kg and 215 seconds.. or why would they put that in the question?

The problem asks for activity of the radiation SOURCE, not how much radiation the person was exposed to. Perhaps I've misinterpreted the question. We are never obligated to use all of the numbers in a question.

do you know how to do it using the numbers. I know for some problems uneeded information can be added but usually if its more than 2 peices then you use at least one of them

You have to multiply the 3.7e10 by the 16mCi, and then divide by 1000. Disintegrations/s, and bq will be the same. Remember sig figs....
