Calculate mole solute in solution?

I added an amount of an unknown sample to a solution. I found that the molality of the solution is 0.085m and there is 0.0156kg of solvent. Calculate the moles of solute present in solution?

Thanks!

molality = moles of solute/kilograms of solvent

notice how the units cancel out to moles of solute:

(moles of solute/kg of solvent)*(kg)= moles of solute

So for the example above would the moles be 0.18 mol?

molality x kg solvent is not your answer.

To calculate the moles of solute present in the solution, we need to use the molality and the mass of the solvent.

Molality (m) is defined as the moles of solute per kilogram of solvent. In this case, the molality is given as 0.085m.

The mass of the solvent is given as 0.0156kg.

To calculate the moles of solute, we can use the formula:

Mo
