solve for k
-4k-8k+7=-53
Please explain how you found your answer!! Please help!!

asked by Alyssa
  1. -4k-8k+7=-53

    First, combine like terms.

    -12k + 7 = -53

    Subtract 7 from both sides.

    -12k = -53 -7

    -12k = -60

    Divide both sides by - 12

    k = -60/-12

    k = 5
