Please note, this is one section of the problem. I didn't feel the need to post the entire question as I understand how to do it...minus this one part.

(2 tan pi/3) apparently becomes 2 sqrt 3.....explain?

This question requires radians and the conversion of such into degrees

the general formula for it is

degrees= radians x 180/pi

radians=degrees x pi/180

in your case: converting radians to degrees becomes

pi/3 x 180/pi = 60 degrees

tan 60 = sqrt3

therefore, 2tan pi/3 = 2sqrt3
