She exclaimed she had spent all her pocket money on that book.
3) He said that he had been waiting for the bus for an hour.
She recommended that I read that book.
Peter told his mum that he had gone on a school trip.

1. Yes, "for" can be omitted or kept in -- either way works.

All are fine.
