  1. I hope you are familiar with the standard rules of logs, then...

    log72-log(2x/3)=0
    log10 (72 ÷ 2x/3) = 0

    72(3/(2x) = 10^0
    216/(2x) = 1
    2x = 216
    x = 108

    Prove that log a, log ar, log ar^2 is an a.p. Is the following below correct? Log ar^2 - Log ar= Log ar - Log a hence applying laws of logarithm Log(ar^2/ar) = log(ar/a) Log and log cancels out and then cross-multiply hence a^2r^2

    Suppose you are told that log(2)=0.3562 and log(3)=0.5646. All of them with the base of 'a'. Find: i) log(6) ii) log(9) Solutions i) log(6)= log (3)(2) = log 3 + log 2 = 0.5646 + 0.3562 = 0.9208 ii)log(9)= log 3^2 = 2 log 3 = 2
