Does anyone know why amines show high solidility in water?

Could my answer be:

Amines exhibit high solubility in water because they form bonds with the water thanks to the hydorgen bonds, but large amines are not soluble in water since the effect of this bonding is diminished.

Or maybe this is not my answer.

I think that is a good answer but I would modify it slightly, beginning with, but large amines are ..... to but large amines are not soluble in water because the long organic chain diminishes the polarity of the molecule.
