  1. Let the "rational number" be a/b.
    b = a + 6
    (a-2)/(b+4) = 1/5
    (a-2)/(a +10) = 1/5
    a - 2 = (a/5)+ 2
    4a/5 = 4
    a = 5 b = 11
    The number is 5/11.
