The book says cut 2 bits of fabric on the bias to the desired length and width of the bow and then it tells yu how to make the bow as well as how to make the knot.It doesnt say if yu need to use any extra fabric for the knot only tells yu how to make and attach it to the bow.Would we need 2,3,4 or 5 bits of fabric?

It reads as if it needs only 2. If it doesn't indicate any additional needed bits, then ... I'd say 2.

I think I would carefully read "how to make the knot" section.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that the book instructs you to cut 2 bits of fabric on the bias for the desired length and width of the bow. However, the book does not explicitly mention whether you need additional fabric for the knot.

To determine if you need extra fabric for the knot, we need to understand the specific instructions for making it. If the instructions involve using the same fabric as the bow, then you would only need the 2 bits of fabric. However, if the instructions indicate using a separate piece of fabric for the knot, then you would need additional fabric.

Since the book explains how to make and attach the knot, I would recommend carefully reviewing those instructions for any mention of additional fabric. If none is mentioned, it's likely that you only need the 2 bits of fabric for the bow itself.
