2) The plot is very simple and built around (is based on/revolves around/is centred/centres around/on the interralation between the two main characters. Which of the verbs above is possible?
3) I need you to help me express the following concept.
When a pupil has been absent or has arrived late for school, on of his parents must fill in an excuse slip and sign it.

1. To say he excuses himself means that he forgives himself. The point is to get HER to forgive him. This sentence needs to read with the verb "apologize" in the correct form.

2. All variations seem fine.

3. It's fine -- correct the spelling on "one," though.
