John Ruskin illustrates a direct correlation between the decline in morality and the pollution visible in his world in “The Storm Cloud of the Nineteenth Century.” Illustrate this principle in action by utilizing between two and four of the texts we read from the Victorian era. For example, Do Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde have a similar appearance? Why is one more gruesome? According to Ruskin the sins of man would be visible in their physical being. (Yes, you may use this as one example, but I would expect a deeper investigation into it.) Note: settings often illustrate the morality of a location or the people who live within them, even today.
