I thought it was this:
HNO3(aq)+KOH(aq)-> H2O(l)+ KNO3(aq)

Am I missing something, because the program I use to submit my answers to is not accepting this as correct.

  1. Yes, you are missing something. What you have written is the balanced molecular equation. This must be converted into the total ionic equation, then by canceling ions that appear on both sides you obtain the net ionic equation.
    You add the phases.
    H^+ + NO3^- + K^+ + OH^- ==>H2O + K^+ + NO3^-
    Add the phases and cancel anything that appears on both sides.
