Write an equation for the problem & solve.

There are 500 cm of trim to frame a banner. The banner is 22cm wide. How long can it be?

Thanks you so much

500 x 22 = 11000 ( this gives you area) Then multiply 11000 by 2 because there are 2 sides of length.

hey...i had a similar question and someone helped me at schoolpiggyback, look for it on google... not sure if it'll help...but its worth a shot....goodluck : )

To solve the problem, we need to find the length of the banner given that there are 500 cm of trim to frame it and the banner is 22 cm wide.

Let's denote the length of the banner as L.

To find the length, we can follow these steps:

1. The perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of all its sides. In this case, the trim is used to frame all four sides of the banner, so the perimeter of the banner is 500 cm.

2. The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is P = 2L + 2W, where L is the length and W is the width. Since the width of the banner is given as 22 cm, we can write the equation as 500 = 2L + 2(22).

3. Simplifying the equation, we get 500 = 2L + 44.

4. To isolate L, we can subtract 44 from both sides of the equation: 500 - 44 = 2L.

5. Simplifying further, we have 456 = 2L.

6. To find the length L, we divide both sides of the equation by 2: 456/2 = L.

7. Solving the division, we find that L = 228 cm.

So, the length of the banner can be 228 cm.
