adding magenta and yellow dyes makes what color?

At first i thought it was red. but when I realized we are adding dye's not light im thinking its black.. but im not sure! please help!

You are thinking too hard.

If mixing pigments, magenta plus yellow absorbs all colors except red, so it appears red.

I recently had a lot of fun repainting my beehives (after 30 years of faded yellow). I went to Sherwin Williams, bought a gallon of white, and then bought 3oz of blue, magneta, and gold (yellow fades). Want red? for me it was magneta + "gold".

Because I mixed a cup of paint at a time, I have many, many colorful beehives.

oh haa

To determine the color obtained by adding magenta and yellow dyes, we need to understand the basics of subtractive color mixing. In subtractive color theory, colors are created by absorbing certain wavelengths of light and reflecting others.

Magenta and yellow are two of the primary colors used in subtractive color mixing, along with cyan. When these colors are combined, they absorb different wavelengths of light, resulting in a different color being reflected.

In this case, magenta and yellow dyes would produce a color known as "reddish-brown" or "ochre." It is not pure red, nor is it black. Ochre is a subtle, warm color that can be described as a darkened version of orange or brown. It is often used in earthy tones and is a common color in natural pigments.

To confirm this information or explore the specific colors that are obtained by combining different dyes, it is always recommended to refer to a color mixing guide or experiment with actual dyes to see the results firsthand.
