what does this quote from jean arp "Soon silence will have passed into legend. Man has turned his back on silence. Day after day he invents machines and devices that increase noise and distract humanity from the essence of life, contemplation, meditation" mean?

It seems pretty clear to me.

Do you know the meanings of all of the words?

no i don't understand humanity and essence

i think it is saying technoloy progress changes things . The things of now of day would be replace and the humanity whichs is us will not intreact like now.

People will be into technology in which in the future there will be no intereaction.

Humanity means the qualities that make people different from other animals. It's our capacity to care for others, think abstractly, experience beauty, and have a spiritual life.

Essence means the most important part.

so it is saying that technology is taking our expreince to life and taking away the important parts of life

Yes.
