Hello.

I will be very grateful for your help.
1)Which is correct: "he called me a)in an hour, b) after an hour"?
2)Is it possible to use "dismiss" in the context: "Many plants and factories are now dismissing workers"?
3)Is it possible to use "convert" in the following context: "The Middle East is converting into a real volcano"? (maybe, "turning"?)
Thank you for all you help.

1. Either one works, but a) is most commonly used.

2. I'd say the bosses or managers at many plants and factories are dismissing the workers.

3. "turning" is far better.
