(a) If you use two quarters 2.00 mm apart to make a parallel plate capacitor, what is its capacitance? Measure the necessary quantities.
(b) If you connect your capacitor in part (a) across 12 V potential difference, how much excess charge will flow onto each quarter?

I am totally lost here..there aren't any values!

  1. a) C = epsilon0*A/d
    A is the quarter's area (in m^2), d = 0.002 m. C is the capacitance in Farads

    epsilon0 = 8.85*10^-12 F/m
    The thickness of the quarter does not matter.

    b) Q = C V
    Q will be in Coulombs. V = 12 V
