  2. In essence, there isn't a lot of difference, but grammatically, there is.
    "Should" is part of a verb conjugation, and does not require the word "to" in between. "Ought" is followed by the infinitive form of the verb, with the word "to" in between.

    "Ought to + verb" actions are often considered somewhat more important, obligatory or moral than "should + verb" actions.
