You obviously don't understand civil rights. Those are rights that all of us should have -- rights to free speech, to associate with whom we want, to go where we want. However, in the South before the Civil Rights movement, blacks did not have many civil rights in the South. They had to go to different schools, drink from different water fountains, couldn't eat in white restaurants, and had to practically bow down to all white people.

Rosa Parks and other civil rights leaders wanted to get civil rights for everyone. They worked to get rid of the laws that prevented blacks from having the same rights as whites.
