Orlando has a bank statement balance of $414.25 and $5.90 service charge. His check register shows $374.16 and he has two outstanding checks of $26.54 and $21.78. What is his true balance?

The above answers are incorrect. It's asking for adjustments for the service charge. Take your bank statement ($414.25) and subtract the service charge ($5.90) giving you a total of $408.35.

One last thing to keep in mind, Henry is completely wrong. Astounding checks are added to your total, not subtracted. If looking for the grand total, you would simple do the same as above, and then add in the $26.54 and $21.78. Hope this helps. Good luck.

update:

My answers are in fact correct. Just took the test and got both questions correct (Part 1 & Part 2). Some people might be confused on what the question is actually asking because different testing programs like the one I used had multiple questions based off of each other. Like so.
Your welcome, hopes this helps future students. :)

To find Orlando's true balance, we need to calculate the difference between his bank statement balance and his check register balance, and then adjust for any outstanding checks and service charges.

1. Start with the bank statement balance: $414.25
2. Subtract the service charge: -$5.90
Bank statement balance after service charge: $414.25 - $5.90 = $408.35

3. Next, subtract the check register balance: $374.16
Bank statement adjusted balance: $408.35 - $374.16 = $34.19

4. Finally, subtract the outstanding check amounts: $26.54 + $21.78 = $48.32
True balance: $34.19 - $48.32 = -$14.13

Therefore, Orlando's true balance is -$14.13 (negative balance), indicating that he has insufficient funds.

The correct answer is $365.93. I just finished this quiz, that’s what I answered, and got it correct.

Bal. = 374.16-26.54 -21.78-5.90 =

Well. I'm going with Anon's answer. as 405.35 is one of the answers it gives us. others being 414.25$, 408.35$, 48.32$, and 365.93$

The Answer is 319.94 all you do is subtract from the things you have to subtract from.
