How can I have a nice order of ideas in my paragraph so it doesn't ramble all over the place?

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. First of all follow the "pattern" for a good essay. Are you writing a 5 paragraph essay, for example? Begin with a thesis statement (what you wish to proove/say) which doesn't have to be at the beginning. Then the first paragraph is your opening (what you are going to write about.) The last paragraph will be your conclusion and the 3 middle paragraphs will be the points you wish to make.

Begin with an outline. That helps to formulate your ideas and sequence them.

Feel free to post your essay when it is finished for proofreading.

Now, if you only want to write one paragraph, a good paragraph has 5 sentences = a beginning, 3 points, and ending or conclusion!
