Who was King Tut and why is he famous?

  1. Tutankhamen, known to us as King Tut, was an Egyptian pharaoh about 4,300 years ago. He died when he was about 19 years old -- so didn't really have a chance to do much during his lifetime. However, his tomb is the only pharoah's tomb that we know about that was not robbed and destroyed long ago. Howard Carter found the tomb in the 1920s and the world was amazed at the treasures found in this tomb.
