I am stuck on two questions that I can't find in the textbook or online and I don't have any idea how to get the answer since the class doesn't start until Thursday and the quiz is also on that day, please help.

1. It is proposed to split the state of California into two states, North California and South California. Who must consent to this division before it takes effect?

2. Titles of nobility (king, queen, prince, princess, etc.) can be granted by ______________.

Well, Massachusetts was split into Maine and Massachusetts. Look up the Compromise of 1820 or "Missouri Compromise" on Google or elsewhere

We do not have kings and queens and princes and princesses in the US.

Constitution - Title of Nobility Clause:

I know we don't have kings, queens, princes or princesses in the U.S. but for some reason it was on the review.

Division of states Article 4 of Constitution - Has happened four times. I just live in MA so remembered Maine and MA

No one in the U.S. can be granted a title of nobility.

http://www.google.com/#pq=titles+of+nobility+(king%2C+queen%2C+prince%2C+princess%2C+etc.)+can+be+granted+by&hl=en&cp=19&gs_id=3&xhr=t&q=Titles+of+nobility++can+be+granted+by&pf=p&sclient=psy-ab&source=hp&pbx=1&oq=Titles+of+nobility++can+be+granted+by&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=23bc058ba87a7947&biw=711&bih=453

That is why it was on the review. Title of nobility is not allowed by the Constitution. Adams and Madison and Jefferson and all had had quite enough of kings and princes.
