I left out the following statements which I really find it difficult to rephrase.Thank you very much!

1) He considers death from two perspectives: one is the stoic attitude to put an end to life and human misfortune, the second is the hesitation about an afterlife.
2) He doubts about the existence of the man after death, because he has no proof about what happens after it. So he prefers to stay alive and bear the sorrows of human existence.
3) It is a statement of the accountant after having work on his accounts.
4) Like the accountant the man has to use a knife to take his own life. So he will be free from the bearing of pain and sorrows.
5) He hesitates because he doubts (about) the existence of an afterlife.
It is breave who takes his own life and who doesn't have this courage is a coward.
6) The fear of something after death makes us (men) coward.
