A 3.4 kg ogject to the right at 3.5 m/s hits a stationary object of mass 2.7 kg. After the collision the 2.7 kg object moves to the right at 1.8 m/s.

A) What is the final verlocity of the 3.4 kg object?

B) What is the total kinetic energy og the objects before the collision?

C) What is the total kinetic energy of the objects after the collision?

D) How much energy was lost in the collision?

If you can please show me how to do this. Please and thank you. I am clueless in Physics...

A) Use conservation of linear momentum along the left-right axis.

B) You know the masses and velocities. Compute the KEs and add them up

C) Add them up again, once you know the velocity of the 3/4 kg object after collision

D) (B) - (C)

Computing the answer is as easy as typing the question. Do not deprive yourself of the opportunity.
