Since you have not used parentheses to show what your numerator is I have to guess what you mean.

Perhaps:

(6w - 36) / 6w ?????

1 - 6/w

If your really meant it like you typed it:
6w - (36/6w)

6 w - 6/w = 6 (w - 1/w)
