  2. sounds like you need some good solid in-person help. Or, to move matters along, tell us where you get stuck. You must have some idea how to get started on these problems.

    If not, and here it is the end of the semester, you really do need some personal help. Also, there is a ton of help online, at all levels. If you do a google search on something as crazy as

    algebra how do exponents work
    or
    algebra why do we add exponents when we multiply powers

    you'll get lots of elementary help.
