I made a typing error on last post so I thought I would try again . thanks for your help.

Use the percent equation to answer the following.

solve the percent equation for b.
percent equation is a= p% . b

i saw in text it set up as cross products a/b = p/100.

I thought about putting formula b=p/a for answer or b = 100 using 1 for a, p

a = P% b.

Change % to decimal:
a = (P%/100%) * b,
a = (P/100)b,
Multiply both sides by 100/P:
b = 100a/P.

thank you so much Henry, i really appreciate your help.

To solve the percent equation for "b," you can use the cross product method. Here's how:

1. Start with the percent equation: a = p% * b.
2. Rewrite the percentage as a fraction: p% = p/100.
3. Cross-multiply: a * 100 = p * b.
4. Divide both sides of the equation by p to isolate b: b = (a * 100) / p.

So the solution to the percent equation for "b" is: b = (a * 100) / p.

Note: In your example, you mentioned considering the formula b = p/a as an answer. However, this is not the correct formula for solving the percent equation. The correct formula is b = (a * 100) / p.
