Average cost per gallon:
(2.96 + 3.61)/2 = 3.29

Average gallons:
42.5

42.5 * 3.29 = ? average cost per month

I assume your native language is not English.

Thank you Miss sue ..
and sorry for late reply , you are right i am learning english.
so
42.5*3.29= 139.825 per month .
but i need to know the weakly cost so i divide 139.825 by 7 to get weakly price which is almost 20.
So
20 is right answer?

I'm sorry, but I misread your question.

Divide 139.825 by 4 to find the weekly cost = $34.96 per week

Thank you so much .

You're welcome.

To calculate the weekly cost of driving to college, you correctly calculated the monthly cost first. The monthly cost is calculated by multiplying the average number of gallons (42.5) by the average cost per gallon ($3.29). This gives you a monthly cost of $139.825.

To find the weekly cost, you divide the monthly cost by the number of weeks in a month. Assuming there are approximately 4.33 weeks in a month (52 weeks divided by 12 months), you would divide $139.825 by 4.33.

So the weekly cost would be approximately $32.28, not $20. Therefore, your answer of $21 is incorrect. The correct weekly cost to drive to college, based on the given information, is approximately $32.28.
