Hello.

Please help me with the correct word order:
1)The president says that now / at the moment the government is working on a new plan.
2)The president says the government is now working on a new plan.
3)The president says the government is working on a new plan at the moment / now.
Thank you very much.

I am pretty sure the answer is #2 because listen to the way the others sound they don't make much sense.

#1 reads awkwardly to me.

I'd choose either #2 or #3.

Hello! I'd be happy to help you with the correct word order in your sentences. Let's go through each sentence one by one:

1) "The president says that now / at the moment the government is working on a new plan."
In this sentence, although both "now" and "at the moment" can be used to indicate the present time, "now" is commonly used in this context. So, the correct word order would be:
"The president says that the government is working on a new plan now."

2) "The president says the government is now working on a new plan."
The word order in this sentence is correct. It follows the pattern of subject (the government) + verb (is working) + adverb (now) + object (a new plan).

3) "The president says the government is working on a new plan at the moment / now."
In this sentence, both "at the moment" and "now" can be used interchangeably to indicate the present time. So, both word orders are correct:
"The president says the government is working on a new plan at the moment."
"The president says the government is working on a new plan now."

So, depending on the context and personal preference, you can choose either sentence 2 or sentence 3. I hope this clarifies the correct word order for you. Let me know if you have any further questions!
