What was the Columbian exchange and what impact did it have on the Old and New worlds?

  1. The columbian Exchange is where people, plants, animals, and diseases are transfer back and forth across the Atlantic Ocean. THe impact to the Old worlds included valueable new crops such as corn and potatoes to Europe...it improved the diet of the average European. The Europeans also found new opportunities by crossing the Atlantic to settle in the Americas. The impact the the New world is that the diseases begins to become bad for the Native Americans...about 90 percent of the native population was wiped out by European diseases however, slavery comes to America.
